Giving Back with Canyon
Since inception, the firm has prioritized and encouraged charitable giving, and volunteerism. Canyon’s Founding Partners and team members serve as board members of numerous philanthropic organizations.
The volunteer initiative, “Canyon Gives Back,” was adopted in 2017 as a formal charitable program, combining volunteerism with team-building opportunities. On a quarterly basis, Canyon partners with local nonprofit organizations for team members to engage in a group volunteer activity such as cleaning the beaches with Heal the Bay or providing unsheltered mothers and their children with the necessities to get off the streets and into affordable housing with Baby 2 Baby.
Team members are also allowed two days of paid leave per year to volunteer with a non-profit organization of their choice.
These various efforts embody Canyon’s longstanding commitment to community service, creating relationships within the local philanthropic ecosystem, and providing an opportunity for Canyon team members to bond outside the work environment while making a positive difference.
Our team’s active involvement with local communities unquestionably contributes to Canyon’s culture of participation, teamwork, and overall success. We take tremendous pride in being a good corporate citizen, and our history of engagement and outreach has made the firm what it is today.”
Our efforts over the past year have included creating mentorship programs. In 2021, we partnered with Beyond Barriers, a leadership coaching platform, to launch a formal mentorship program for our female staff. In turn, Canyon team members – in partnership with various organizations such as Rock The Street Wall Street – serve as student mentors with a focus on developing financial literacy and opening doors in the industry to traditionally underrepresented groups.
Our employees are passionate about making a positive impact on society and are involved in our community engagement and philanthropic activities. Volunteer work is at the core of Canyon’s CSR efforts and employee participation is a cornerstone for team building, strengthening company culture and sense of community.
