Launches strategy to invest in assets with a focus on densely populated and diverse communities
Canyon Catalyst Funds are created with CalPERS to invest in the Western United States via joint ventures with emerging real estate managers
Canyon Multifamily Impact strategy is founded in partnership with U.S. banks to invest in workforce multifamily assets in low to moderate income census tracts
Our Approach to ESG is formalized (and later became a formalized ESG Policy) and quarterly ESG reporting begins with respect to certain investors
Canyon Opportunity Zone strategy begins creating multifamily assets including affordable housing

Canyon’s membership in responsible investing initiatives aids our ESG integration efforts and strengthens our commitment to transparency. Our participation provides Canyon with opportunities to learn about ESG integration best practices, the current state of industry standards, and for peer-to-peer knowledge sharing.
In 2021, Canyon became a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). Supported by the United Nations, the PRI is the world’s leading proponent of responsible investing.
In 2021, Canyon began participating in the Responsible Investment Working Group of the Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI), a global active alliance of asset managers and allocators.
In 2022, Canyon became a member to the The Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) which engages, empowers and connects limited partners to maximize their performance on an individual, institutional and collective basis.
