Martin Downen

Martin Downen is the Co-Head and Portfolio Manager for Canyon’s CLO business. Prior to joining Canyon in 2014, Mr. Downen was a Managing Director at Highland Capital where he oversaw a portfolio of par and distressed high yield debt and equity investments across the chemicals, consumer products, gaming, media, retail, power, utility, and print & publishing industries. Mr. Downen was also a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York and an Associate at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. in New York. Mr. Downen graduated from Brigham Young University (B.A. Economics) and the University of Michigan (M.B.A., concentrations in Finance and Corporate Strategy).
